My years of membership in The International Wizard of Oz Club have provided numerous opportunities to expand and display my Oz collection. When I first discovered the Club through a gift membership from my mother I was only aware of the first 14 Oz books by L. Frank Baum and the MGM movie: so my first Oz Club conventions introduced me to the many other books and movies about Oz as well as the multitude of related collectibles that existed. 

The Club convention displays and auctions have always been a highlight and still are a wonderful source for Oz collectibles and information about them. Of course, that was before eBay brought the thrill of the hunt for Oz items into my home. But even with the World Wide Web making Oz more accessible, it doesn’t provide the face-to-face contact or create friendships the way that involvement with the Club does.
