The Autumn 2011 issue of the Baum Bugle featured articles celebrating the centennial of Baum’s “borderland of Oz” novel, The Sea Fairies, and the theme of “head and heart” in Baum’s twelfth Oz book, The Tin Woodman of Oz. Departments offered an interesting short story by Ruth Plumly Thompson, a profile of an Oz museum, vintage publicity materials from the 1939 MGM Oz film, reviews of several new Oz books and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new stage version of Oz, a report on a memorial for Toto, and remembrances of Oz friends departed.
